PraXess Associates is a publisher and distributor of collections on microfilm and in digitized formats. We are a company uniquely qualified to provide preservation and access solutions to the library and archives communities.
The founder and president of PraXess Associates, Marc Zeitschik, brings to this endeavor the knowledge and experience gained through 19 years of hands-on work in the world of preservation and reformatting.
As founder and president of Archival Survival, a preservation microfilming company, he has provided archival-quality microfilming services to such institutions as The New York Historical Society, The New York Public Library, Cornell University, The New York State Newspaper Project, and the Rockefeller Archives Center.
He was also the Vice-President and General Manager of Norman Ross Publishing, a microfilm publisher, where he oversaw and significantly raised the standards for the production of microfilm collections from filmers here and in Mexico, Russia, the Ukraine, Poland and Hungary.
Most recently, he was Director of Collections and Content Development for Cold North Wind, an Internet company providing access to a global newspaper library.
Our Director of Technical Services. Richard’s career in micrographics goes back over twenty years, from Manager of Microfilm operations at the American Bible Society, to Director of Micrographics for Goodwill Industries, to Vice-president of Archival Survival.
Most recently, Richard was Head of Preservation Reformatting at The New York Public Library. In keeping with his membership in the baby-boomer generation, there have been a few detours in this seemingly straight path, notably into the worlds of sound recording and reformatting, as befits the former lead singer of The Gentz.
Our Office/Production Manager is Kimberlly Irizarry. Prior to her employment at PraXess, Ms. Irizarry was a Project Archivist with The Center for Puerto Rican Studies at Hunter College, CUNY for three years.
From 1998 to 2001, Kimberlly was the Assistant Manager for Crabtree & Evelyn’s world flagship store in the World Trade Center.
Kimberlly is bi-lingual, has traveled as far west as Utah and as far east as India, and moonlights as a Salsa dance instructor.
